Thanksgiving Day

On 4th Thursday in November, Thanksgiving Day.

Some of you did your homework and that’s why you have two extra points!!

We talked about past holidays. So, we used the past.

Then, we pretended to be on holiday. We made postcards and sent them to another classmate.
Nice postcards! Remember to write . “Dear + your friend’s name” and finish with “Love, and your name.”

Don’t forget the prepositions: ON the beach, AT the seaside, IN the city, IN the mountain…

We read about Thanksgiving Day

Can you remember the answers to these questions?

When is Thanksgiving Day celebrated in Canada?
When is Thanksgiving Day celebrated in the USA?
What was the “Mayflower”?
How do Americans celebrate this date?
What did Native Americans help the Pilgrims to do?

Do you remember the meaning of these words?
Corn, sweet potato, a feast, thankful, cabin, squash, turkey, Pilgrims

For homework, make sentences using the words above. You can use more than one word in the same sentence.

Today’s game was listening and vocabulary related to “Thanksgiving  Day”

Let's finish talking about hobbies and let's start talking about holidays!

Hello again!

Let’s  start working!

So, our interviewers conducted a survey to find out the best hobby.
Do you remember the questions:

What’s your hobby? What do you like about it? Who do you play with / do your hobby with? Where do you play it / do it? What do you like about it? Can you remember a special moment (e.g. wining a medal / a trophy / beating another team / finding something unusual...)

Do you think you could interview your father, your mother or another member of the family about their hobbies?
You can use the questions above.

And for homework: find a photo or a picture related to holidays. It could be a photo of one of the holidays you had or a photo from a magazine. Because  we’re going to talk about hols. in our next class. (hols means holidays)

We played “Stop” to revise vocabulary. We also wrote high numbers.
And ...this is the result of our game
