Wednesday 9th
April
Hi everybody!
Yes!!! We had the letters from our penfriends from Ukraine and we wrote
them back in class.
Are you going to enclose
(put into the
envelope) a photo of you? It was a good idea to say what you look like
(describe)
first and then, in our next letter, we could enclose a photo. Anyway, they’re
your letters and your penfriends, so you can write whatever you like, it’s up to you (you choose).
But remember to be polite and not to ask rude (not nice) questions.
What do you look
like? (Describe your appearance)
The order of the adjectives
when you describe hair is usually like this
LENGTH + STYLE + COLOUR
Long / short straight/curly/wavy brown,/fair/dark/black etc.
·
I’ve got long straight blonde hair .
·
She has short curly dark brown hair.
·
He has big blue eyes.
·
She is tall and thin.
Listen
to the dialogue and do the exercises
Our next topic is
“Shopping”
We started talking about what
Katherine, Leo and Jane bought. (past of
buy)
Do you remember Katherine?
She is tall and thin. She has long wavy orange hair. She is wearing a yellow dress,
brown high-heeled sandals, a necklace and two bracelets.
She is carrying a present. She is going to her friend’s birthday
party.
What do you think
she bought?
She bought a pair of shoes,
a tablet, a bottle of perfume, a black dress …and a laptop…for her friend.
Good memory! You could
remember everything!
I’d like to have a friend like
Katherine. My friends never give me a laptop as a present on my birthday!!!
What
about Leo?
Well, Leo isn’t very tall and he
isn’t fat.
He has short straight hair and black eyes.
He’s wearing a uniform that
consists of a
white shirt, a yellow and purple tie, a red jacket, grey trousers and black
shoes. He’s carrying a blue bag
with a calculator and some pens in it. And
he’s holding (in his hand) a mobile.
What did he buy?
For his new school he bought a
new calculator, a new bag, some pens ….
And we finished describing
Jane.
