Carnival and the Weather!

Hello kids!

You enjoyed a lot last weekend celebrating Carnival!

Player 3 was a bit sad because that was her last Carnival at school. Don’t be sad because you are leaving  school. High School can be great!

She had a good time dancing a song called “The yellow tractor”. She wore a yellow fancy dress because they were wearing costumes related to the theme “Miró, the painter”.

The best thing for player 2 was that her school won the prize! Marching and dancing in the parade was also funny. She wore a big dressed like a box, but it wasn’t uncomfortable.

Player 1 didn’t wear a costume this year. Anyway, he doesn’t like wearing costumes. Although it was funny last year when they wore costumes similar to the clothes in the film “Grease”.

Player 4 doesn’t like wearing carnival costumes or doing homework!

We finished talking about food, for the moment. You made questions for a “food trivia” so as to review vocabulary we had learnt about food.

·         Can you name five dishes you have for starters?

·         What’s porridge?

·         What’s paella made from?

·         What’s green outside, red inside and you have it in summer?

·         Name seven items of food. Each one has to start with one of the letters in the alphabet up to letter “g”, that is, the first one beginning (starting) with “a”, the second with “b”, the third with “c” and so on. (Etc.)

·         What food grows in the forest and it’s sometimes poisonous?

·         Say two foods that taste sour?

·         What tastes sweet?

·         Name four things you put in “Green salad”.

·         How do you make spaghetti Bolognese?

·         Say three vegetarian dishes.

We finished the class talking about the weather…

·           What’s the weather like today?

·           What was the weather like yesterday?

·           What kind of weather do you prefer? Why?

·           What’s your favourite season?

·           What do you usually do when it’s rainy?

·           What do you do when it’s snowy?

…and the things we can or can’t do depending on the different kinds of weather.

·           What can you do when it’s rainy?

·           You can go to the cinema with your friends and you don’t get wet!

·           You can sing in the rain!

·           But you can’t make a snowman!

For homework don’t forget to write about ten lines telling me what your favourite season is and why you like it.

Don’t forget how to spell these words:

Rainy, snowy, windy, cloudy, sunny, stormy, blow, shine, thunder, lightning, boiling, freezing, warm.
